Phone Studies (2019 – ongoing) is a collection of expanded drawings made on my mobile phone and presented as a weblog. The drawings are typically made while I am traveling or unable to use a computer. Each drawing is a study of the mobile phone as a device and the software that facilitates its creation in the following ways:

  • Drawings take advantage of styles/techniques/processes that can only be or are best created with software.
  • Drawings are created employing a capacitive touchscreen and explore their haptic and gestural qualities.
  • Drawings use the same vertical format of a mobile phone (input) and are intended to be viewed on a mobile phone (output).
